The 2002 girls tennis squad

On this day 12 years ago, the girls’ tennis team won their second consecutive League Championship with a 6-1 victory over Bellport.

The team was led by senior captain Katie Jaeger who guided a team flush with talented players, including All-County sophomore, Juanita Gonzalez, All-League singles selections Alex Arcuri and Pearl King, and the All-League doubles pair of Carolyn Bilodeau and Jenn Felder. After helping the team to a 9-1 record, Gonzalez would enjoy a great postseason run, qualifying for the semifinals of the Suffolk County Individual Championship.
