The girls’ tennis team is tied atop League VI after finishing out a busy week, 3-0. After defeating Rocky Point 6-1 last Monday, the Bears took on Mt. Sinai two days later and narrowly defeated the Mustangs, 4-3. The girls split the four singles matches, as Sadhana Sridhar (7-5, 6-1) and Nancy Lin (6-1, 6-2) each handled their opponents. It would come down to the doubles matches and Julia Braat/Julie Wu (6-2, 6-2) and Brianna Holochuck/Gracie Xie (7-6 (4), 6-2) were able to pull out the win for the Bears.
On Friday, the Bears had a far easier match, dispatching Bellport, 7-0. Akari Yoshida (6-0, 6-1), Sadhana Sridhar (6-0, 6-0), Nancy Lin (6-1, 6-1), and Olivia Braat (6-3, 6-3) swept the singles matches while Angela Wong/Ha Min Cho (6-1, 6-0), Julia Braat/Julie Ho (6-0, 6-1), and Brianna Holochuck/Gracie Xie (6-0, 6-1) dominated the doubles matches.
