On This Day in History | 1963

On this day 48 years ago, the wrestling squad captured a third consecutive Ivy League Championship. Their hopes of a three-peat were checked early in the season as they dropped their second match to Horace Mann, 8-30. However, the boys used the setback as motivation to defend their title and won their final six dual meets to finish 7-1 before getting revenge on Horace Mann in the Ivy League Championships. Five Blue and White grapplers were crowned individual Ivy League Champions: Warren Hannas (123 lbs), Jack Emery (130 lbs), Johnny Vassilaros (148 lbs), Bill Johnson (183 lbs), and Jim Pendill (Unlimited).
