Thanks to her recent performances in leading the girls’ basketball team to a sixth straight County Championship, Brannon Burke was featured as the “Whiz Kid of the Week” in the Port Jefferson Patch.
Brannon–who is a senior and the chaplain prefect at her school–scored her 1,000th career point becoming only the fifth member of the 1,000 point club in Stony Brook’s girls’ basketball.
Athletic Director, Jeremy Donovan from The Stony Brook School said that leadership and athletic skill are qualities that help both her and the team achieve greatness.
“Her leadership and excellence on the court has been instrumental to the team’s success this year,” Donovan said. “She reached the 1,000-point milestone in a win over Southold that clinched the seventh consecutive league championship for our girls.”
