Tennis Victorious Without Top Two Players

Nicole Antieri (shown serving vs. Comsewogue) came through when called upon

Yesterday morning, the girls’ tennis team took on Bellport and won in dominant fashion, 7-0. The score was surprising not only because it was the first shutout of the season for our girls, but that it was accomplished without our top two singles players Tylah Gantt and Michelle Avrutin. Gantt was competing in a singles tournament in Canada while Avrutin had a family commitment, but the Brook seemed comfortable without them as they easily vanquished the Clippers. Nicole Antieri ably stepped into the 1st singles role as did Alexa Augustine in the 2nd slot. With the win the Bears improve to 5-1 and stay tied with Sachem East for 1st place in League VIII.
