On Monday afternoon, the girls’ lacrosse team clinched a second consecutive PSAA regular season title with a 15-4 victory over Avenues at Randall’s Island. The Bears share the title with Long Island Lutheran, who finished tied with The Brook atop the league standings.
Natalia Pagano led the offense with 5 goals and 2 assists to go along with 5 ground balls. Mia Trama (4 G, 2 A, 8 draw controls), Sydneyanna Giardini (4 G, 3 DC, 3 GB), Sera Prinz (1 G, 2 A), Ali Puopolo (1 G, 3 DC), Ella Middlekauff (1 G, 1 DC, 2 GB), and Georgia Apazidis (1 A, 1 GB) provided the remainder of the offense. Emily Berger (5 saves) and Sienna Eum (4 saves) shared goaltending duties to anchor the defense.
The Bears now look ahead to the PSAA semifinals on Wednesday in search of a second straight berth in the PSAA title game.
