Berger Records 300th Save to Lead Bears in Opener

On Thursday afternoon, the reigning undefeated PSAA Champions returned to the field for a rematch of the last two PSAA semifinal match-ups. In a dominant showing at Staten Island Academy, the Bears registered a 21-11 win that featured the 300th career save for Emily Berger.

The senior captain recorded 9 stops on the day, and Natalia Pagano powered the offense with 5 goals and 3 assists as the Bears rolled. Ali Puopolo (3 goals, 1 assist), Mia Trama (3 G, 2 A), Mack Vesey (3 G), Sophia Dabbraccio (2 G), Sydneyanna Giardini (2 G), and Sera Prinz (2 G) rounded out the potent attack. Trama also led the team with 4 draw controls while Georgia Apazidis scooped up 3 ground balls.

The Bears are back in action on April 3 when they host LuHi in a rematch of the 2022 PSAA Final.
