On Saturday, Steven Hardee ’22 and the University of Miami Sail Team took first place out of 15 teams to claim the Eckerd Trophy at the Doyle Sailing Center on Boca Ciega Bay. The freshman teamed up with Laura Johnston to record a low score of 10 points in Division A with a 1st place finish, three runner-up finishes, and one 3rd place mark over their five races.

The Hurricanes’ Division B team finished second on their leaderboard with 10 points for a team total of 20 that bested second-place University of South Florida in the overall rankings by nine points.
