On Friday afternoon, the girls’ tennis team swept the Panthers, 5-0, on the inaugural Fall Portledge Day that saw the Bears compete with our chief rival in seven different athletic contests.
Carina Cristobal (6-0, 6-0), Sarah Arrieta (6-1, 6-0), and Alanna Wu (6-0, 6-1) powered through the singles matches while Isabel Guo and Ali Cristobal (6-3, 6-1) and Lyle Petroske and Sam Cox (6-1, 6-0) closed out the victory at doubles.
The victory was the Bears’ 22nd straight in league play as they remained undefeated in PSAA matches since joining the league in 2018. It also helped The Brook to a 4-2 Portledge Day win along with victories for girls’ cross country, girls’ volleyball, and boys’ soccer.
The Bears are back on the court on October 3 in a home match-up with Long Island Lutheran.
