On Saturday, at the 16th Annual Port Jeff Steeplefest held at Port Jefferson HS, the Bears turned in seven top 10 performances against a strong field that included some of the largest schools on the island.
Lilly Keegan was the Bears’ top performer on the day, earning a trio of top six finishes thanks to three personal record (PR) marks. The junior tied for 3rd in the high jump (4′ 8″), took 3rd in the triple jump (32′ 3.75″), and was 6th in the long jump (15′ 4″) to earn three medals on the day. Niamh Scanlon earned the other top 10 performance on the girls’ side with a 5th place, 15′ 6″ mark in the long jump in a PR-effort.
On the boys’ side, David Song was 8th in the 110 hurdles (18.95 PR), EJ Lamptey was 6th in the shot put (38′ 5″ PR), and Zach Mogambi was 4th in the discus (100′ 0″ PR).
