On this day 17 years ago, Nick Miaritis ’01 was named the ECAC Riddell Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week for Georgetown University, on the heels of the Hoyas’ 11-6 win over #6 Navy the previous weekend.

Miaritis was the offensive catalyst against the Midshipmen, notching a career-high 4 goals to lead Georgetown to the top-10 victory. The former Bear scored the game’s first goal, added another in the second quarter, and finished with a pair of second half goals to help fell Navy in Annapolis. To that point in the season he was tied for the team lead in goals with 11.

Miaritis would close his senior season as an Honorable Mention All-American.
