On this day eight years ago, the boys’ basketball team improved to 11-1 in League VIII play with a 55-39 win over Bridgehampton.

The Bears raced out to a 19-8 first quarter lead, fueled by a suffocating defense, before carrying a 14-point edge into the break. A 12-9 final frame capped the win. Chase Audige finished with 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 steals, Andrew Daniel recorded a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds, and Brandon Odom added 15 points and 5 assists. Asaiah Wilson (5 points), Tyler Hoegsberg (2), and Eli Davis (2) rounded out the Blue & White scoring.

The Bears went on to win a third straight League Championship and a second consecutive Suffolk County Championship to cement their place as one of the greatest teams in the 100-year history of Stony Brook Basketball.
