On Wednesday afternoon, the boys’ swim team downed Lindenhurst, 52-41, in a non-league meet.

The Bears trailed 13-21 at the midway point, but continued to battle and close the gap until the final race held the result in the balance. Leading 43-40, the Brook took 1st in the 400 freestyle relay as Sam Specht, Hugo MacDonald, Pelayo Otero-Novas Gomez, and Gavin Paton sealed the victory for the Blue & White.

The turning point of the meet came in the 500 freestyle when Specht earned a win that propelled the Brook into the lead by a point. Will Tao built on the momentum with a victory in the 100 backstroke that added to the Bear advantage. Other 1st place finishers for the Bears included Specht (200 free), Tao (100 butterfly), and MacDonald (100 free).
