Yesterday afternoon, on a blustery October day that saw temperatures dip into the 50s, the girls’ tennis team defeated Staten Island Academy, 5-0, to return to the PSAA Championship for the fourth straight season.

Carina Cristobal continued her undefeated season at first singles, winning 6-0, 6-2. Alanna Wu (6-0, 6-0), and Isabel Guo (6-0, 6-0) swept away their singles matches and Sam Cox and Caroline Helmer (6-0, 6-2) and Ali Cristobal and Mia Lajmi (6-0, 6-0) capped the victory by taking the doubles matches.

The Bears are next on court this afternoon as they host #2 Portledge with a chance to win their second straight PSAA title and third in four years.
