Yesterday afternoon, the boys’ tennis team traveled to the West Side Tennis Club, the site of sixty U.S. Open Championships, and came away with a 4-1 win over Kew-Forest.
Jackson Petroske battled back from a 3-6 opening set loss at second singles to win the next set, 6-4, and a super tiebreaker, 10-8. Enoch Guo cruised at third singles, 6-1, 6-0. Jaden Lee and Clement Leung continued their strong chemistry with a 6-3, 6-0 win at first doubles while Jonathan Hell and Liam Swords earned a forfeit at second doubles.
The win gave the Bears a 6-2 finish in PSAA play, good enough for second place and just a 3-2 Portledge loss away from the #1 seed and a league title. The Bears will get another chance to hang a banner next week when the PSAA Tournament opens on Monday.
