On Friday afternoon, the boys’ tennis team traveled to Locust Valley and returned home with a 4-1 win over Portledge, the reigning 2019 PSAA Champions.
Jackson Petroske won a gutsy second singles match (4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (8-6)) and Enoch Guo battled back in third singles after dropping the second set to win, 6-1, 4-6, 6-3. The doubles tandems of Jaden Lee and Jonathan Hell (6-1, 6-3) and Nick Knaupp and Liam Swords (7-5, 6-1) looked strong in their straight set victories.
The Bears are back in action on Wednesday in a home rematch with the Panthers.
