A day after sweeping LuHi to clinch a fourth consecutive regular season title, the girls’ volleyball team overwhelmed Lawrence Woodmere to close out a fourth straight undefeated regular season with a 3-0 sweep. All seven wins this season have come in straight sets.
The Bears allowed the Tigers only 11 total points in the match, cruising to scores of 25-3, 25-3, 25-5.
In game one, Gillian Bernier served up an incredible 18 consecutive aces while kills from Ava McCormick, Lilly Keegan, and Ella Middlekauff rounded out the opening win. In game two, the Bears rode the serve of McCormick, who registered six straight aces, and Lily Middlekauff, who rang up 13 consecutive aces, to a 25-3 win. In the final frame, Niamh Scanlon held serve for 12 straight points, using numerous aces to build a lead. Lily Middlekauff finished out the game with points on seven straight serves.
The Bears are back on the court tomorrow in a PSAA Semifinal match-up vs. either Solomon Schechter or Lawrence Woodmere.
