
On this day 22 years ago, Matt Mattimore ’95 snared 10 catches for 145 yards and a touchdown in Georgetown’s 13-12 Homecoming victory over Holy Cross.
The former Bear caught a 13-yard pass that capped an 80-yard drive and put the Hoyas up 7-6. They would go on to win thanks to a 77-yard touchdown pass with just 2:36 remaining.
Mattimore closed his senior season in Washington D.C. as a 1st Team All-American and the recipient of Georgetown’s Jeremiah Minihan Coaches Award. He ranks seventh on the Hoyas’ all-time lists for receiving yards in a game (188), in a season (804), and in a career (1,117).
