On Saturday afternoon, the wrestling squad turned in an impressive performance, garnering a pair of victories despite operating with a thin roster.
In the opening match, the Bears made quick work of the Churchill School as pins from Forest Kaplan-Walbrecht (122 lbs/00:22), Danny Isakov (162 lbs/2:10), Adetona Adesina (184 lbs/00:59), and Eze Barrah (197 lbs/1:22) paced the Brook to a 42-6 win.
The Bears made it a doubleheader sweep with a 42-36 win over the Storm King School thanks to pins from Joe Isola (134 lbs/00:27), Carter Brett (140 lbs/2:47), Nathan Han (147 lbs/00:43), Barrah (184 lbs/00:39), Adesina (197 lbs/3:45), and Jason Kim (222 lbs/1:31). Adesina’s match was especially key as the visibly winded senior gutted out a tough victory that proved to be the difference in the match.
The Bears are back in action this afternoon in their PSAA opener vs. Long Island Lutheran.
