This afternoon, the girls’ tennis team took another step forward in the defense of their 2018 PSAA crown with a 4-1 semifinal win over Avenues on the home hard courts.

Carina Cristobal (6-1, 6-0) and Marta Bennett (7-5, 6-1) earned singles wins while the doubles tandems of Alanna Wu and Isabel Guo (2-6, 6-4, 10-4) and Wonder Wei and Mary Wang (7-6, 6-4) took care of business to earn a hard-fought victory over their Manhattan rivals to earn a return trip to the PSAA Championship.

They will face the winner of the second semifinal between #1 Staten Island Academy and #2 Portledge on Monday at Cantiague Park.
