This afternoon, the girls’ tennis team made it a Senior Day to remember by clipping Portledge, 3-2, to clinch the outright East Division title for a second straight year.

Sadhana Sridhar (6-0, 6-1) and Carina Cristobal (6-0, 6-1) won their singles matches, but Portledge took both doubles matches, leaving the outcome resting on the 3rd singles result. Marta Bennett was up to the task as she fought off wind gusts over 25 mph and waning light to pull out a 7-6, 6-2 result.

The Bears have clinched the top seed in the east and will host a semifinal match against the second-seeded team from the west on Thursday, Oct. 24.
