Coach Fred Jordan (seen here in ’82) led the boys to 3 straight titles

On this day 37 years ago, the boys’ tennis team topped Miller Place, 6-1, to finish 15-1 and claim the League VIII Championship for the third straight season.

Greg Fitzpatrick (6-1, 6-1), Gilbert Baguio (6-0, 6-0), and Kris Chvatal (forfeit) earned singles wins while Duke Thrush and Yeaza Thrush (6-1, 6-0), David Holmes and Farshad Rowshandel (6-2, 6-0), and Tom Dowker and Daniel Benna (forfeit) swept doubles.
