Lingle comes through the line with the lead in hand for the Tigers

On this day 54 years ago, Robin Lingle ’60 helped the University of Missouri dominate the 14th annual Arkansas Relays despite harsh winds and 40-degree temperatures.

The Brooker joined forces with Robert Kneile, Larry Ray, and Charles Conrad to win the distance medley relay, besting Oklahoma City, Arkansas, and Kansas State in 10:04.8. Here is a recap of the race from the Northwest Arkansas Times:

Missouri’s Robin Lingle showed his stuff in an amazing come-from-behind performance on the mile leg for the Tigers’ winning distance medley relay team, but didn’t enter another of his specialties, the two-mile run.
