On this day 20 years ago, the boys’ basketball team edged Southold, 58-55.

The Bears raced out to an 18-7 lead after the first quarter, powered by Seth Kuhn’s seven points, before taking a 29-17 lead into the break.

The Brook held a nine-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, but had to hold on as Southold exploded for 27 in the frame, nearly matching their output from the previous three quarters. Dave Marvin scored nine of his 17 points in the final frame to help the Bears weather the storm.
