On Friday night, the boys’ basketball team traveled to Garden City and came away with a 58-24 win over the Waldorf School.
The Bears leapt out to a 16-5 lead after the first quarter thanks to a pair of 3-pointers from Andy D’Alessio, a 3-pointer from Jai Narain, and a pair of buckets by T. J. Wachter. By halftime the lead swelled to 36-11 as Narain and CJ Edwards combined for all 20 points in the frame. Narain drilled a trio of threes while Edwards scored 11 points on a 3-pointer of his own plus four buckets. The Bears outscored the Wolverines 15-7 and 7-5 over the final two quarters to close out the win.
Narain led all scorers with 15 while Edwards (13), D’Alessio (8), Owen Sobel (7), Wachter (6), Seamus Scanlon (5), and Rex Eshirow (2) rounded out the scoring. No Wolverine scored more than eight points as the Bears led the way with their patented tough defense.
The Bears are back in action on Monday in a league match-up at Martin Luther.
