
Yesterday evening, the volleyball team clipped Hampton Bays, 3-2, in a non-league match to improve to 9-0 on the season.
The Bears dropped set one, 21-25, the first opener they lost all season, but bounced back to win the second set, 25-17. They won a thrilling third round, 26-24, to take a 2-1 lead in the match, but fell in an equally close fourth set, 23-25. In the deciding fifth frame, they prevailed 25-15.
Bekah Detwiler had 10 kills, Mercedes Alvarez had 6 kills, and Sydnie Beausoleil recorded 4 of the team’s 20 total kills.
The Bears are back in action on Friday evening in their regular season finale vs. Kew-Forest School.
