On this day 42 years ago, the boys’ cross country team clinched the League Championship with a 15-46 win over Pierson.
The team was led by Mark Whitney (County Champion/ 2nd at State meet), Andy Whitney (3rd at Counties/ 18th at State meet), Henry Ho, Bill Hobbs, and Jim Hansen. The championship was the Shrikes’ sixth consecutive league title, spanning both the Ivy League and Section XI.
