
On this day 22 years ago, the boys’ soccer team dropped Smithtown Christian in overtime.
The Bears trailed 0-2 at the halftime break, but used a four-goal second half to force overtime. Heiko Huber’s 25-yard goal with 14:30 left in regulation, courtesy of a pass from Jay Miaritis, forced the extra periods. In overtime, Sean Metz scored twice, including one with 30 seconds left in the first extra period, to cap the 6-4 comeback win.
Liam Banks, Michael Keller, and Moore Onyekaba also added goals for the Brook. Michael Jayson registered 14 saves between the posts.
