On this day 19 years ago, Liam Banks ’98 led Team USA to the U19 World Lacrosse Championship in Adelaide, Australia.
The United States topped Canada 14-7 to win the best of three series after beating their northern neighbors, 16-15, in game one. The win was a part of eight straight championships for the Americans from 1988-2016.
Banks led all players in the tournament with 18 goals and 18 assists over the six games. The following spring he led Syracuse to the National Championship with 6 goals in the 13-7 win over Princeton.
