On this day 18 years ago, several Bears turned in impressive performances at the New York State Track & Field Championships in Liverpool, NY.
Ben Pinder had the highest finish for the Blue & White, taking second in the Class C/D 400m hurdles in a time of 57.37 to earn All-State honors. He also took seventh in the 110m hurdles in 15.94. Jason Cannie also placed for the boys, taking fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 41′ 2.5″.
On the girls’ side, Erva Cockfield took fifth in the shot put (34′ 0.5″) while Lisa Vitolo was ninth in the 3000m (11:20.08).
Pinder still owns the school record in the 110m hurdles (15.04 FAT) while Cockfield continues to hold the shot put (36′ 11.5″) and discus (116′ 11.5″) records.
