Yesterday afternoon, Colin Scanlon took 3rd place in the 400 hurdles at the Division III Championships in a time of 60.20, despite being the youngest runner in the field. Scanlon earned a spot in the finals after taking 4th in prelims on Tuesday with a time of 61.27.
Scanlon’s performance was the highest divisional finish for a Bear since Jyles Etienne won the high jump a year ago, and was the highest finish for a freshman since Taylor Colucci took 2nd in the 200 meters in 2009 with a mark of 23.23.
