On this day 23 years ago, the boys’ lacrosse team topped Comsewogue, 15-9.

The Bears jumped out to a 4-1 lead after the first quarter and held a 7-3 edge at the half. They broke the game open with a 5-1 third quarter on the way to a dominant win. Jake Kenney had 5 goals and 3 assists while Jim Bickley added 4 goals and 2 assists. Sam Hanchett (2 goals/ 2 assists), Eaghmon Banks (2 goals), Spencer Niebuhr (1 goal), and Dave Metz (1 goal) rounded out the scoring for the Brook. Derek Kenney notched 18 saves between the pipes.

The Bears went on to win a second consecutive County Championship after dispatching Comsewogue in a thrilling semifinal victory.
