
Yesterday afternoon, the boys’ badminton team jumped out to their best start in the four-year history of the program, improving to 3-0 on the season with a 5-4 victory over Miller Place. The win was the Bears’ third victory in a row vs. the Panthers, including wins of 6-3 and 7-2 a season ago.
Ulysses Zhang (15-1, 9-15, 15-4) and David Wang (15-7, 15-5) won their fourth and fifth singles matches, respectively, while the tandems of Caleb Spreckels and Jack Yu (15-5, 15-6), Ian Liu and David Chen (17-14, 15-4), and Sam Han and Sam Wong (15-5, 15-2) earned doubles wins to give the Brook the win.
The girls dropped a narrow, 4-5, decision to the Panthers.
The Bears are back in action this afternoon in a match-up at Half Hollow Hills.
