Kenney vs. Georgetown in 2003

On this day 15 years ago, Nathan Kenney ’01 scored two goals for the University of Virginia in a 19-8 win over Drexel.

The Cavaliers led 11-6 heading into the fourth quarter, but put the game away with an 8-2 final frame, thanks to two goals from Kenney. Sean Metz ’99 was on the Drexel sideline that day. He was the Dragons’ 7th-highest scorer in 2003 with 10 points.

UVA would go on to win the Atlantic Coast Conference and National Championships that season. In the NCAA final vs. Johns Hopkins, Kenney made a crucial late-game hit to regain possession for the ‘Hoos in their 9-7 win.
