
On this day 12 years ago, the girls’ basketball team clinched a second consecutive League Championship in a 53-36 win over Mercy.
Kristyn Dunleavy led the way with 24 points as the Bears improved to 11-0 to clinch the outright title. They closed out their undefeated season the next day in a 54-24 win at Shelter Island. The Bears would go on to win the program’s first County Championship in seven years in a 48-44 win over Port Jeff. The victory was a first in a run of six consecutive county titles for the Bears.
