On this day 20 years ago, Sara Kiernan scored 23 points to lead the girls’ basketball team to a 67-37 win over Smithtown Christian. The junior guard scored 20 of her game-high 23 in the first half while Rebecca Fischer, the other half of the Bears’ dynamic duo, scored 22 and grabbed 8 rebounds as the Blue and White improved to 3-0 in league play.

The Bears would go on to win the second of what would become four straight League Championships.
