Felix in the season opening win over Center Moriches (PC: Bruce Jeffrey)

After a 33-point, seven 3-pointer performance last night in a narrow 48-55 loss at Mercy, Beth Felix rose to #10 on the Suffolk County scoring list. Her twenty 3-pointers on the season currently ranks 5th in the county.

During last night’s scoring barrage, Newsday reporter Gregg Sarra compared Beth to Nicole Kaczmarski, who starred for Sachem in the late 1990s and went on to play professionally:

While Beth’s scoring has grabbed the headlines, she has excelled on both sides of the floor. In Monday’s loss to Class B Mattituck, she poured in 24 points while holding the Tuckers’ Liz Dwyer (9th on the scoring list) to 12 points, her lowest output of the season.

Beth and the Bears are back in action on January 10th in a home match-up with Port Jeff.
