On this day 10 years ago, the girls’ basketball team won a double-overtime thriller at Sayville.

Allegra Istrati knocked down a jumper with 15 seconds left in the second extra period to give the Bears the 47-46 non-league win. Danielle Spiliotis led the way for the Brook with 22 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 blocks while Sadie Singer added 10 points and 6 assists.

The Bears would go on to win a third consecutive County Championship that season.
