Yesterday afternoon, the girls’ cross country team finally enjoyed some autumn racing weather in the annual Tom Knipfing – Marvin Goldberg Invitational at Fireman’s Field. The event is partially named for our legendary cross country and track coach, Marvin Goldberg.
The Bears finished 7th out of 11 teams in the small school race, beating out Shelter Island, the reigning Class D County Champion, in the process. Miranda Harrigan was the Bears’ top finisher (14th place/21:22) while Sarah Wong (41st/23:53), Vivien Mimura (42nd/23:53), Judy Tao (59th/25:08), and Lely Garner (60th/25:09) rounded out the scoring for the Brook.
The Bears are back in action on Tuesday in a match-up with the Ross School at Sunken Meadow.
