This evening, the Stony Brook University football team got off to its best start since 2012 with a 25-17 victory over visiting Towson University.
Don Liotine ’13 led all rushers with 67 yards on 13 carries with a long run of 12, accounting for nearly half of the team’s total rushing yards (142) in the process. With Stony Brook clinging to a 22-17 fourth quarter lead, Liotine played a crucial role in draining precious time from the clock on the final drive before Alex Lucansky drilled his fourth field goal of the game to all but assure SBU of victory.
This is the third straight game Liotine has led the Seawolves in rushing to go along with his 43 yards vs. Rhode Island and 84 yards vs. Sacred Heart.
Liotine and the Seawolves are back in action next Saturday in a CAA Conference match-up in Williamsburg, VA vs. William & Mary.
