Yesterday afternoon, the boys’ and girls’ badminton teams made sure their seniors walked off the Swanson floor for the last time in victorious fashion.

The boys repeated the 9-0 victory they earned over Patchogue-Medford on March 30 by cruising through the competition without dropping a single set. David Choi (15-3, 15-1), Haban Weon (15-4, 15-4), Tiger Sun (15-10, 15-5), Jerry Liu (15-3, 15-0), and Kevin Zhang (15-6, 15-6) earned singles victories while David Wang and Tony Yu (15-1, 15-5), Ulysses Zhang and Jack Yu (15-6, 15-7), Alex Yu and Leo Yang (forfeit), and Caleb Spreckels and Justin Kim (forfeit) rounded out the sweep. The Bears’ fourth 9-0 sweep of the season bumped their record to 11-6, good enough 4th place in the league.

The girls also won by the same 5-4 margin that they earned on March 30. The four doubles tandems fell, but Mary Wang (10-13, 11-0, 11-0), Maria Volovaya (11-7, 11-4), Ariel Wang (11-3, 11-9), Lin Sun (11-3, 11-3), and Elena Chen (11-4, 11-6) propelled the Brook to the win with a clean sweep at singles.

The Bears will close the regular season on Friday in a match-up at Lindenhurst.
