On Thursday the boys’ and girls’ badminton teams rolled past Patchogue-Medford by scores of 9-0 and 5-4.

The boys improved to 5-1 on the season, eclipsing their win total from their first two seasons (4 wins in 32 matches) in just their sixth match this season. The boys did not drop a set in their clean sweep. David Choi (15-10, 15-4), Haban Weon (15-4, 15-2), Tiger Sun (15-6, 15-6), Jerry Liu (15-1, 15-1), and Kevin Zhang (forfeit) swept the singles matches while Ulysses Zhang and Tony Yu (15-1, 15-4), David Wang and Jack Yu (15-4, 15-1), Alex Yu and Leo Yang (15-1, 15-6), and Caleb Spreckels and Justin Kim (15-2, 15-9) ran the table in their doubles matches.

On the girls’ side the Bears dropped all four doubles matches, but swept the five singles matches for their second straight win. Mary Wang (11-3, 11-6), Masha Volovaya (11-4, 11-2), Ariel Wang (11-2, 11-7), Lin Sun (11-4, 11-5), and Elena Chen (11-7, 11-10) paved the way for the Blue and White victory.

The Bears return to the court today in a home match against Lindenhurst (4-2) this afternoon.
