On Thursday afternoon, the boys’ and girls’ badminton teams earned victories in a home match-up with Miller Place.

The boys improved to 9-5 on the season with a convincing 7-2 victory over the Panthers, an improvement on their 6-3 win on March 21. Jerry Liu (15-6, 15-2), Haban Weon (15-14, 11-15, 15-5), Tiger Sun (15-8, 15-9), and Kevin Zhang (9-15, 15-11, 15-4) took four of the five singles matches while Ulysses Zhang and Jack Yu (15-8, 5-15, 15-12), Alex Yu and Leo Yang (15-7, 15-4), and Caleb Spreckels and Justin Kim (15-7, 15-9) won three of the four doubles matches to give the Brook the win.

The girls’ team avenged their 2-7 loss on March 21 by clipping Miller Place, 5-4. Mary Wang (11-3, 11-6) and Elena Chen (forfeit) earned wins at first and fifth singles, respectively, while Lily Ho and Amber Beg (15-8, 15-11), Lisa Ho and Melody Li (15-0, 15-7), and Rosemary Wu and Grace Wang (forfeit) took three of the four doubles matches.

The Bears return to action on Thursday in a home match-up with Northport.
