After a leap of 7′ 1.75″ (2.18m) on April 1 at the BAAA CARIFTA Trials, Jyles Etienne placed himself among the world’s best young high jumpers. He is currently #3 in America for high school and tied for #7 in the world under-20 rankings. He will attempt to defend his gold medal from a year ago this weekend at the 46th CARIFTA Games in Curacao.
