Last Saturday, Hunter Markowitz capped an outstanding freshman season by placing among the best in Suffolk County Swimming & Diving Championships.

In the 50 free, he turned in a season-best time of 23.17 to finish in 11th overall in Suffolk County in a field of 26 swimmers. He is already approaching the school record time of 22.90 set by Jonathan Meltzer in 1992.

In the 100 free, he obliterated his season-best time of 52.00, knifing through the water in 51.11 to tie for 10th place out of 24 swimmers.

The future is bright for Markowitz who finished third in his age group in the 50 free and second in the 100 free.
