On Friday afternoon, the girls’ basketball team earned a 41-31 non-league victory at Portledge.

The Bears took an 8-6 lead after the first quarter, but trailed 14-15 heading into halftime. The girls roared out of the gates in the third quarter, winning the frame 11-3 to take a 25-18 edge into the fourth. Beth Felix had nine points in the quarter to lead the charge.

In the fourth, the Bears extended the lead, behind another nine-point outburst by Felix, to take the victory. Felix finished with a game-high 27 points. Sammy Petersen added 10 points and Briana Kilkenny and Jessica Nwachukwu each added 2.
