Swimming Glides Past West Babylon

Yesterday afternoon the girls’ swim team downed West Babylon, a Class AA school in most sports, by a score of 95-75 after winning 9 out of the 11 events.

Three different Bears won multiple individual events. Rachel Crane led the pack in the 200 yard freestyle (2:13.35) and the 100 yard backstroke (1:11.14). Rebecca Crane claimed wins in the 200 yard individual medley (2:43.56) and the 100 yard butterfly (1:14.23). Yesenia McKee was a dual victor in the 500 yard freestyle (6:31.98) and the 100 yard breatstroke (1:25.27). Francine Leung was the other individual winner for the Brook, winning the 50 yard freestyle in 27.84.

The Bears also won two of the three relay events as the Crane sisters, McKee, and Leung won the 200 yard medley relay in 2:19.31. The Crane sisters and McKee then took the 400 yard freestyle relay in 4:23.08 with the addition of Josie Levy.
