Swimming Glides Past West Babylon

Yesterday afternoon, the girls’ swim team downed West Babylon, a Class AA school in most sports, by a score of 95-75 after winning nine out of the 11 events.

Three different Bears won multiple individual events. Rachel Crane led the pack in the 200 freestyle (2:13.35) and the 100 backstroke (1:11.14). Rebecca Crane claimed wins in the 200 individual medley (2:43.56) and the 100 butterfly (1:14.23). Yesenia McKee was a dual victor in the 500 freestyle (6:31.98) and the 100 breaststroke (1:25.27). Francine Leung was the other individual winner for the Brook, winning the 50 freestyle in 27.84.

The Bears also won two of the three relay events as the Crane sisters, McKee, and Leung won the 200 medley relay in 2:19.31. The Crane sisters and McKee then took the 400 freestyle relay in 4:23.08 with the addition of Josie Levy.
