On this day 30 years ago, the field hockey team topped Mattituck, 2-1, avenging a two-week old loss to the Tuckers.

The Shrikes got on the board first when Wendy Weilbacher found the back of the net, but Mattituck equalized 11 minutes later to level the score at the half. With time waning in the second half, Christina Godfrey scored the game-winner on an unassisted strike to give the Shrikes the victory.
