On Wednesday, Jyles Etienne and Miranda Harrigan turned in impressive performances at the Port Jefferson Steeplefest Invitational.

Etienne claimed yet another high jump title, clearing 6′ 9″ to best the second place finisher by a foot in his final tune-up before the Penn Relays this weekend.

Not to be outdone, Miranda Harrigan torched the school record in the 2000 meter steeplechase, besting the previous mark by three minutes in a time of 8:10.63 to claim 3rd place in the novice race. It was an impressive showing for the sophomore in her first time ever running the race.
